Avoiding American Apparel

Over the last 4-5 years American Apparel has taken the screenprinting industry by storm with a very nice lighterweight T-Shirt that is truly a superior T-shirt.  But, American Apparel thinks that making a nice shirt is not enough.  They have resorted to advertising that ranges from suggestive to downright pornographic! I am suggesting Tultex as an alternative, or if anyone has any other suggestions pleas let us know.  It seems pretty basic, but I believe it is better to use an alternative than to support American Apparel.

I wholeheartedly agree that American Apparel (AA) is way too explicit, especially for someone like me who is starting a Christian T-shirt line. I've chosen not to go with American Apparel because of that reason. It's just not the image I want connected with my business nor do I want to support it if they continue down this line.

In AA's defense, I'm sure they're not marketing to the more conservatives groups, but for me as a newbie in the t-shirt business I've chosen not to print my designs on the American Apparel brand. If AA decides to revamp and go back to a more wholesome look... then I would have no problems purchasing from them.

Since their image is still way too explicit... I've found some other brands (Alstyle, Next Level, & Tultex) that are just as good or even better. As long as these companies don't turn into AA... I'll be sticking with them.
